MUSICAL ACTIVITES THAT CAN BE OFFERED TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS
Primary Schools (Key Stage 2)
Activities exploring aspects of ensemble work and individual performances. Developing communication/social skills through taking part in an ensemble e.g. a class of children prepare a piece/ pieces of ensemble music chosen from a wide variety of sources for a series of workshops with I.LL where the goal would be to:
improve on the technical and musical aspects of the original performance.
Suggest changes to the performance with regard to aspects of rhythm, melody/harmony, instrumentation, and thus encourage the children to find new methods of adapting the original score.
Thereby linking communication skills outlined above with developing specific skills in listening acutely to music, and adopting the basic core material for further exercises in composition.
